Tamarack Park, White Bear Lake Township - Dec 2008

A Saturday hike shortened by Winter weather, but made up for by a warm and wonderful lunch at Bea's. The best sightings of a hawk on the ground with it's prey less than 15 feet from our path. Also spotted woodpeckers and squirrels and I believe a new outdoor sculpture since we last hiked this location! Missed a couple of our regular hikers, but so good to have Barbara, Rachel, Dorothy and Jocko join us. Such a comfortable time together - who noticed the weather was turning nasty and the roads nastier. But hey, we're Minnesotans!

Sunday Morning Lutsen Hikers - October 2008

Nine of our hiking group made our way to Lutsen Friday Oct 10th for a weekend of hiking. As ever, food ranked high in priority and we were not disappointed. These photos are somewhat in sequence from Friday night to Saturday hiking to Sunday morning and a stop at Gooseberry Falls. No photos from The New Scenic Cafe along old Highway 61 so that maple-something butter will remain another memory. Somewhat surprised to see people wearing shorts when we arrived back at White Bear Lake around 7 PM.
